Archetypal Psychology: A Brief Account
(Dallas: Spring, 1983) is Hillman’s summary of his work to that point in time. A more recent work is Benjamin Sells, ed. Working With Images: The Theoretical Base of Archetypal Psychology (Woodstock, CT.: Spring, 2000), the first of a projected three-volume anthology of seminal essays by, among others, Hillman, Gilbert Durand, Henry Corbin, Patricia Berry, and Mary Watkins. Hillman’s work and perspective have been particularly compatible to artists, upon a number of whom he has had his own influence, independent of Jung’s.
