22 Jung’s Collected Works include three volumes on the relationship of alchemy to depth psychological processes: Psychology and Alchemy, 2nd ed., Collected Works 12 (Princeton: Princeton University Press, 1963), Alchemical Studies, Collected Works 13 (Princeton: Princeton University Press, 1967), and Mysterium Coniunctionis , 2nd ed., (Princeton: Princeton University Press, 1963). An excellent introduction to this material is Edward Edinger’s Anatomy of the Psyche: Alchemical Symbolism in Psychotherapy (La Salle: Open Court, 1985). The alchemical character of some filmmakers’ work remains relatively unanalyzed. Some work is being done in Poland. See, for example, Wojciech Michera, “Wyobraznia alchemiczna Wernera Herzoga. Egzegeza symboliczna filmu ‘Szklane serce’,” /"The Alchemical Imagery of Werner Herzog: A Symbolic Exegesis of ‘Heart of Glass’.”/, in Polska sztuka ludowa Konteksty , 46: 3/4 (1992).
